Yuvraj's all-round show scripts India's win



Yuvraj Singh turned in yet another all-round performance (2-43 and 51 not out) to lead India to a five-wicket win over Netherlands in a Group B match at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground in Delhi.

With this win, India booked its place for the quarter-final at Ahmedabad.

Batting first, Netherlands was bowled out for 191 in 46.4 overs and India chased down the target in 36.3 overs to end at 191 for five.

Earlier openers Eric Szwarczynski and Wesley Barresi added 56 for the opening wicket for Netherlands. Thereafter a steady fall of wickets ensured that Netherlands slipped from 99 for 2 to 127 for 7.
Skipper Peter Borren (38) and Mudassar Bukhari (21) added a crucial 38 runs to push Netherlands to some respectability.

For India the best bowlers were Zaheer Khan (3-20), Piyush Chawla (2-47) and Yuvraj Singh (2-43).

In its chase, India were off to a brisk start with Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag scoring 69 runs in 7.3 overs.

Left-arm spinner Pieter Seelaar (3-53) picked up wickets thereafter as India slipped to 99 for four. Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh added 40 runs to revive the chase.

In the end Yuvraj (51 not out: 73b, 7x4) hit the winning runs to script India's third win.
